Supporting Ecological Conservation with Consumer Power:Taijiang Exclusive New Products of Black-faced Spoonbill Brand!

To preserve the “harmonious coexistence of people and nature” in the Taijiang aquacultural landscape, the Taijiang National Park Headquarters has been collaborating with fishermen in recent years to create eco-friendly habitats in private fish farms. During the wintering period of migratory birds, fish farms will implement eco-friendly measures such as lowering the water level when sunning the ponds, and refraining from using chemicals, collecting small fishes and chasing birds away. After undergoing inspection, the aquatic products of these fish farms can bear the national park conservation brand—the “Black-faced Spoonbill Brand” label. The public can now purchase Taijiang’s limited edition “Black-faced Spoonbill Brand” products in person at the “Taijiang Fun Tour” store in the visitor center of Taijiang National Park Headquarters or place orders directly with the fishermen online through the “Black-faced Spoonbill Brand Information Platform.”

The goal is to help increase the value-add of local aquacultural products through the pioneering national park brand, and to support ecological conservation through selling local products. It is a step towards building a comprehensive green map of eco-friendly habitats in Taijiang, allowing trans-border migratory species like the black-faced spoonbill to rest and forage peacefully in the Greater Taijiang area!
