Taijiang's "Black-faced Spoonbill Concept Store" Unveiled to Promote Corporate Involvement in Eco-Friendly Habitat Management
Taijiang National Park Headquarters launched its eco-friendly brand, the "Black-faced Spoonbill" trademark, for products that come from the National Park-certified "Eco-Friendly Fish Ponds." Fishermen must follow eco-friendly habitat management measures, including sunning the ponds during the wintering period of migratory species like the Black-faced Spoonbill, maintaining a water level of 20-30 cm, avoiding chemical agents, not catching mixed fish, not driving away birds, and conducting bird surveys. Over the past three years, the initiative has shown excellent results. Starting in 109th year with only 5 products, this year (113th) there are now 35 seafood products and 5 eco-tourism services authorized to use the Black-faced Spoonbill trademark (and wetland label). TJNP held the 113th-year product launch event today (27th), showcasing the successful collaboration between TJNP and local fishermen, which expands the safe feeding grounds for the Black-faced Spoonbill in the greater Taijiang area, while promoting biodiversity through eco-friendly seafood, eco-experiences, and environmental interpretation activities.
