Giant Silkworm Moth–Yangmingshan's Top Insect

The flora and fauna of Taiwan is both abundant and precious. We even have the largest moth in the world – the Giant Silkworm Moth. According to research conducted by the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters, the giant silkworm moth has a wingspan as long as 30 centimeters. The tips of the front wings stick out and its shape and pattern are similar to that of a snake head, giving it the ability to scare off its natural enemies. Thus, in Chinese, the moth is also called the Snake Head Moth.
