Chigu Conservation Center is Prepared for the Arrival of Migratory Birds

The Chigu lagoon wetland, located at the mouth of Tzeng-wen Stream, is primary wintering habitat for black-faced spoonbills. The complete wetland ecology also attracts other migratory birds. The Tainan County government has established a Black-faced Spoonbill Management and Research Center. The Center has collected many photos and films on wetland ecology, as well as several black-faced spoonbill specimens. The county mayor, Mr. Su Huan-chi, said that field trips could be arranged to the Center for elementary school students. The center also welcomes domestic and overseas research groups for short-term research.
