Penghu and Pingtung share marine conservation concepts with next generation

The three “Discover Marine Life” ecological camps, held in Penghu and Pingtung on the weekend of December 2nd and 3rd, shared concepts on marine conservation and sustainable fishery with local junior high and elementary students. By promoting the newly set-up Dongsha Marine National Park, the organizer Construction and Planning Administration of the Ministry of Interior hopes that the next generation appreciates Taiwan’s precious marine culture.

Zhang Dai Yang, researcher at the Penghu Fisheries Research Institute, compared the geographic differences between Penghu and Tungsha. His audience not only learned about the new Marine Park and local ocean resources, but were also encouraged to observe and nurture a scientific spirit in order to become the ocean’s vanguards.

Teachers reminded the students with some notes to their parents who work in fishery “not to poison, bomb and shock marine life.
