Stargazing activities to take place at the Tataka Visitor Center

Yushan National Park is located far from the urban jungle. There is plenty of fresh air and there are no harsh city lights to interrupt your view of the night sky filled with dazzling, twinkling stars. Tataka is situated in a mountainous area on the border between mid and high elevations, and is one of the best places in Taiwan to study the stars. Thus, Yushan National Park Headquarters has organized Tataka Stargazing Activities at the Tataka Visitor Center . The purposes of these activities are to allow participants to become familiar with and make use of astronomical telescopes to explore the night skies of autumn over Tataka, and to learn about the constellations that they see. These activities are taking place over two days from October 14 to 15, October 28 to 29, November 11 to 12 and November 25 to 26, respectively. Each session is limited to 40 persons, and the cost is NT$1,900 per person. Advance registration is required. For further information, contact the Tataka Visitor Center at (049) 270-2200 or go online to http://www.ysnp.gov.tw/en
