Syuejian Ecological Tour registration now going on
The Shei-Pa National Park and Formosan Greenlife Recreational Development Association have joined hands to organize the Syuejian Ecological Tour. Individuals are invited to sign up for the unique e journey into a forested area never before opened for public visit.
The Syuejian Ecological Tour on July 14 and 15 will be limited to 24 particpants. Registration will be on a first-come, first served basis. For more information, contact Formosan Greenlife Recreational Development Association through tel. 886-2-2500-7227 or online through welcome.to/glife.
The rather remote Syuejian was visited in the past primarily by indigenous peoples and forestry officials. As a result, the natural environment was well-preserved. Vegetation and animal life were resources found in abundance. The old trail along the Beikeng Creek in the interior was used by the Atayal settlers in ancient times as they moved around and went hunting, rendering it rich in cultural value. Preserved at Tiangou, Meiyuan, and Siaqngbi Villages are unique Atayal customs as well as traditional crafts, which epitomize Atayal culture.
The trip to include homestay arrangement in a nearby inn will have among its highlights a village sightseeing tour, which includes stops at Siangbi Suspension Bridge and historical remnants such as the ancient cannon. An Atayal meal, an Atayal dance program, and a do-it-yourself scarf dyeing session are part of the tour. The Shei-Pa National Park welcomes you to come and experience it.
