Culture, History and Ecology Tour of Guanshan
Watching the sunset at Guanshan seems to be a vital part of the itinerary for many tourists who visit Kenting National Park. After a day full of adventure and sightseeing in this beautiful park, many visitors favor a relaxed ending for the day -- sitting on edge of the coral reef on the western part of Guanshan and letting the sea breeze waft their faces as they gaze at the sun slowly sinking into the ocean. As the process continues, tourists often cheer as the clouds seemingly catch fire and the twilight finally approaches. Kenting National Park is located on the Hengchun Peninsula, which is the southernmost tip of Taiwan. It's in the tropics and thanks to the scarce industrial and residential development and conservation efforts by the park management, all the wonderful scenery including mountains, reefs, plants and animals have been well preserved for the public to enjoy. Every year, the beauty of this national park has attracted many domestic and international tourists to come and visit.
In addition to the beautiful natural scenery, Kenting National Park also offers cultural and historical sites and landmarks for those who are interested in the history of the area’s early explorers. Visitors can find traces of early exploration efforts and experience the journeys taken by the early settlers as they trekked through this wild and wondrous place. At 9 am on Nov. 11 inside the "Guanshan" Heritage Area, the Kenting National Park Interpretation and Education Section will organize a Culture, History and Ecology Tour of Guanshan for tourists staying in Kenting on that day. The staff will lead them on a magnificent tour of ecological wonders and go back in time to experience the place in its entirety.
