Each shuttle bus will be accompanied by a Hualian Tourist Ambassador as guide. Director Lin Yong-fa of Taroko National Park Administration has instructed that each shuttle bus must keep a detailed driving record to allow the Central Cross-Island Highway traffic situation and service quality to be fully understood. Sincheng Precinct police officers will carry out an alcohol test on drivers before the shuttles begin each day to ensure safety.
Director Lin stressed that the main aim of the shuttle buses, apart from serving visitors and reducing congestion on the Central Cross-Island Highway, is also to protect the park’s natural environment and reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
