2008 Taroko Tribe Traditional Handicrafts Empowerment Training Courses
Taroko National Park Headquarters is holding “Basic Patchwork and Weaving” and “Embroidery and Weaving” empowerment training courses for local community residents. The “Basic Patchwork and Weaving” course began on March 26 and has 30 participants. Each participant is required to complete the 60-hour course before taking the “Embroidery and Weaving” course.
The Park Headquarters aims to use these courses to pass on traditional Taroko tribe weaving skills and also help local residents create beautiful and practically-useful works and involve them in community eco-tourism promotion activities.
