The eastern trailhead of the Lyushui Heliu trail is closed for slope scouring work and construction work. Visitors should enter and leave the trail via the Lyushui trailhead
The Lyushui- Heliu Trail (綠水合流步道) is around 2.1 km long. The 1.4 to 1.6 km section of the trail (approximately 500m from the Heliou trailhead) is subject to frequent rock falls due to the broken rock above. To protect visitors, the park HQ is currently carrying out slope scouring work (刷坡工程) along this stretch of trail. Construction work includes removing dangerous trees on the cliff edge and emptying catch pits, rectification of drainage ditches along the trail and building of a rock barrier. During construction, heavy machinery will enter and exit the trail and equipment will be stored there, making it unsuitable for visitors. To facilitate construction work and to ensure visitor safety during the period of construction work (May 22 to June 30, 2008), the eastern trail head (Heliu trailhead) will be closed and visitors prohibited from entering. During the period of construction work, visitors should enter the trail using the western trailhead (next to Lushuei Service Station). The trail is closed around the 1 km mark “Diaoling stone monument” (吊靈碑) and visitors are requested to turn around, return to Lyushui and exit the trail there. The park HQ apologizes for any inconvenience.
