Shei-Pa National Park’s “1000 years of the Atayal” drama wins the top platinum prize in the 41st Houston International Film Festival

Shei-Pa National Park’s “1000 years of the Atayal” Atayal (泰雅族) migration-themed drama won the top platinum prize in the culture category of the 41st Houston International Film Festival and was selected for the 2008 New Beijing International Movie Week in the short film category and the 2008 Moscow Visual Anthropology Exhibition. This success not only exhibits Taiwan’s efforts regarding national culture to the international community, it also boosts Taiwan’s international image as a place where the culture of Taiwan’s indigenous people is given importance, strongly affirming the culture of Taiwan’s indigenous people, illustrating the hard work of the staff of Shei-pa National park and also testifying to the efforts made over a long period of time by the national park to develop partnerships with surrounding villages.
