Chao Jin-shan, President of the Saisyat Culture & Art Association of Wufeng rural township, Hsinchu County led Saisyat chiefs from Wufeng, the speaker of the Tribal Council (民族議會) Jhu Feng-lu and the Executive Director on a visit to Shei-pa National Park HQ, presenting traditional garments and a bottom bell to Director Lin Ching and thanking him for the efforts he has made in his two years in the position towards promoting partnership relations between the park and the tribe and for the results that have been achieved.

Led by Director Lin, Shei-pa National Park HQ was the first government body in Taiwan to sign a partnership agreement with one of Taiwan’s indigenous tribes. Director Lin’s efforts to facilitate the passing on of tribal culture and improve the local environment also won the affirmation of the local Saisyat(賽夏)people. In his speech, Director Lin emphasized that serving the people is the duty of civil servants. Although he is being transferred to Kending National Park HQ on September 1, he said that he hopes the that the spirit of the partnership agreement will continue to be followed and that the cooperation plans that have been set will be carried out, allowing Saisyat culture to be passed on and improving the level of the environment in Saisyat villages.
