Minster Liao Liou-yi gives a speech at the handover ceremony for new CPA director-general Yeh Shih-wen
A handover ceremony for the new director general of the CPA, Yeh Shih-wen, hosted by Minister of the Interior Liao Liuo-yi, was held by the MOI on the morning of August 29.
The Minister congratulated Yeh on his promotion and expressed the hope that, led by Yeh, the CPA will continue to make efforts in the following directions:active promotion of national land sustainability, integration of the three national land laws, acceleration of urban renewal and development, bringing into play local core competitiveness, making effective use of eco-city planning and plot ratio incentive measures, raising urban renewal effectiveness and international competitiveness, completing the sewer system, realizing President Ma’s election promises and, also, introduce new concepts and methods, review Taiwan’s overall natural environment and make the national park system complete.
Director-general Yeh also gave a speech during the ceremony. He expressed his gratitude and, in response to Minister Liao’s encouraging words, said that Minister Liao’s “Minimize the self, maximize social benefit” idea will be his core idea. He expressed the view that the CPA needs a new thinking direction in pursuit of the main objectives of energy saving and carbon reduction, saying that the ideas promoted by the CPA will be “following nature” and “harmony of people and nature.”
