Yushan National Park invites you to appreciate the beauty
Yushan National Park invites you to appreciate the beauty of Yushan in metropolitan parks
Yushan National park HQ is staging a special “The beauty of Yushan” special exhibition from November 12 to the end of December. The exhibition will introduce the changes throughout the year in the park scenery and ecology to allow the public to understand and experience the beauty of the park.
The Construction & Planning Agency, MOI pointed out that the park was established in 1985 and is a high mountain national park with special topography. It has over 30 mountains over 3000 meters high and mountains over 2000 meters account for two thirds of the park area. There is a gap in elevation between lowest and highest points in the park of 3600 meters. The park has valleys, cliffs and wind gaps. The weather is changeable and the park has three climates –temperate, warm and frigid, giving it a high level of plant diversity. The park covers only 3% of Taiwan’s total area but has over 50% of Taiwan’s endemic plant species. It has sub-tropical vegetation and also plants that grow in cold climates. The beauty of Yushan cannot be seen easily by everyone, consequently, the park HQ has organized this special exhibition to give people who have not had an opportunity to visit the park to appreciate its beauty.
