Yushan National Park will hold the “2009 Walami –Yuxi Cultural and Ecological Tourism Activity Series”
To promote eco-tourism Yushan National Park Headquarters has planned the “2009 Walami –Yuxi Cultural and Ecological Tourism Activity Series” together with Nan-an village Development Association, Zhuoxi rural township, Hualian County.
The national park HQ said that visitors will be shown the different but equally beautiful faces of Walami trail throughout the four seasons.
Interpreters will share ecological conservation knowledge with participants, with the aim of passing on natural resource sustainable use concepts. The first activity this year will be the “Ferns of spring culture and ecological tour” which will be divided into two groups. Target participants are members of the general public. Participants must be fit enough to be able to walk around 14 kilometers in a day. The tour will include exploring the history, culture and ecology of Walami Trail and experiencing the customs of the local Bunun tribe. The number of participants is limited to 20 people. Interested people are invited to apply.
