It is 24 years since Yushan National Park was established on April 10, 1985. Over the past 24 years the park has performed outstandingly in terms of nature conservation, environmental education and tourism and leisure and has received award after award. For example, the park was graded as” Excellent” in the CPA overall performance assessment in 2007 and 2008, and ranked first. The park’s Alpine Conservation Volunteer Corps was chosen as an “outstanding” volunteer team in 2008 in a national competition. In addition, the park’s staff are continually engaged in R&D, for example, Nan-an Visitor Center in the east of the park, has established the Namukang rest stop for cyclists. Moreover, exciting news was received on the eve of the park’s birthday. Yushan National Park HQ put forward Yushan as one of the new seven natural wonders of the world in a competition decided by votes from the public and, thanks to the support of the people of Taiwan, it came first.

In coordination with the 24th birthday of the park headquarters, it has organized a series of celebratory activities, including the presentation of “Yushan public information ambassador” certificates, public information activities, “Around Yushan-cycling from Nan-an to Shueili”, “The biggest and best of Yushan” and the “Strange sights of the world oil painting exhibition” . The public is warmly invited to participate in these activities.
