Coral conservation-Protecting the coast Fengchuisha (Wind blown sand) coastline cleaning relay
Every year, in the middle of the third month of the Lunar calendar, the coral in the sea around Kenting spawns. To conserve this precious coral ecology, allow the coral to reproduce without interference, avoid marine creatures choking to death on plastic refuse and disseminate marine conservation knowledge to the public, Kenting National Park Headquarters has, in coordination with the coral spawning season, designated April Kenting National Park’s “Marine conservation work focus month.” Moreover, on April 25 the “Protecting the coast Fengchuisha coastline cleaning relay” activity will be held. Members of the public are invited to join private groups and government bodies in cleaning up the PET bottles and refuse that has accumulated on the Fengchuisha coastline over the years.
Anyone interested in participating should contact the park’s Interpretation and Education Section on (08)8861321 ext. 250~259. The location of the activity is on the east coast of the park. For convenient transport to the venue and to reduce carbon emissions produced by private car use, participants are invited to take a bus from the park headquarters to Fengchuisha. Every participant will receive a sea horse “green” back pack or a t-shirt as a souvenir
