A team of “walking ambassadors” takes part in the International Blankenberge Two-Day Walk of Flanders to promote Taiwan
A team of “walking ambassadors” organized jointly by the CPAMI and the Hope Foundation arrived in the host city Blankenberge in Belgium at 9 pm on May 1 Taipei time to take part in the International Blankenberge Two-Day Walk of Flanders.
The aim of this first-time joint effort by the CPAMI, a body with the responsibility for protecting Taiwan’s beautiful land, and the Hope Foundation, which is dedicated to the promotion of walking as a healthy activity, was marketing Taiwan internationally. Almost all of Taiwan’s beauty and special features can be found in its seven national parks-Yangmingshan Taroko, Shei-pa, Yushan, Kenting, Kinmen and Dongsha-and it can be said that “national parks” is the best brand for the marketing of Taiwan internationally.
The team of 48 walking “Taiwan ambassadors” was led by Huang Pian-nan,President of the Taiwan Mountain Rescue Association. The “walking antelope”, former star athlete Ji Cheng, was his deputy. The national parks dispatched Mr. Chen Meng-jiang of Taroko National Park and Ms Lai Hsiu-yi of Shei-pa who had the task of introducing the beauty of Taiwan’s national parks.They carried interpretation items and souvenirs featuring the parks’ special features and beautiful scenery, giving the participants in the walking event from around the world a deep impression of the beauty of Taiwan. .
