In praise of Taroko” , an exhibition of ink and wash paintings by Lin Wei to be held in the Special Exhibition Room of Taroko Visitor Center until June 28.
In addition to the breathtaking marble gorge scenery of Taroko Gorge, another feature of this natural wonder that is so marvelous it seems it must have been made by the gods is the endlessly diverse folds in the rock. Artists Lin Wei has a unique understanding of the folds in the rocks of Taroko Gorge and has made them the subject of his paintings. An exhibition of his ink and wash works titled “In praise of Taroko” opened in the Specal Exhibition Room of Taroko Visitor Center on May 1 and will run until to June 28.This exhibition will features two series of works- stone patterns and lamp shades. 27 of the former are on display and eight of the latter and all have Taroko National Park as their subject. Swallow Grotto (Yanzihkou), Buluowan and Shakadang River and other popular spots have been painted and the works fully reflect how the artist has been moved by their natural beauty and his meticulous approach to painting them.
