Kenting National Park establishes 20 anchor points

To prevent damage to the coral reefs on the sea bed Kenting National Park Headquarters has established 20 anchor points in places with outstanding underwater scenery in the park.

Kenting National Park has the ocean on three sides, has no major river carrying silt into the ocean and  the black current also provides rich nutrients, giving the park rich coral reef diversity. Every year tens of thousands of people also visit the park to engage in water-based sports and leisure. In recent years diving has gained popularity and boats are making more trips than before. Some boat operators said that boat anchors damage the sea bed coral or other marine life. To avoid this the national park headquarters selected 20 of places with the best underwater scenery and established the anchor points

Global climate change is gradually having an impact on the marine ecology and preserving the biodiversity of the marine ecology and ensuring its sustainable use is the joint responsibility of all citizens of the global village. Kenting National Park Headquarters calls on everyone to cherish these facilities, use them properly and take care of them.  We need to take good care of the marine environment.
