Typhoon Morakot causes serious damage to Yushan National Park's trails, forest roads and access roads. Visitors are asked to stay away from the park temporarily to avoid danger

Typhoon Morakot caused serious damage to central and southern Taiwan and Yushan national Park was not spared. The park's main access roads (Provincial highways 16, 21, 18 and 20) are all cut off in a number of places and the forest roads and trails have also been heavily damaged. Due to safety concerns, visitors are asked to not visit the park for climbing or leisure in the near future.

The park is temporarily closed and park entry applications after August (to enter the park after September) will temporarily not be accepted. The date of the park's re-opening and when applications are once again accepted will be announced after related repair work is carried out and inspections are completed.

People who have booked and paid for accommodation in Paiyun Lodge(排雲山莊) should apply for a refund to Yushan National Park in the near future. Yushan National Park Headquarters regrets any inconvenience.
