Shei-pa National Park’s mountain climbing routes partially reopened
Permit applications for Shei-pa National Park’s Mt. Xue main-east peak, Zhi-jia-yang, Wuling-Siji and Shengling 0 climbing routes are now being accepted once more. Climbers are asked to take special care on these routes because the trails have collapsed and trees have fallen in some places and repair and clearing work is on-going.
Eastern Dalu Forest Road has collapsed and has fallen trees and pools of water in many places. For safety reasons it is estimated that the road will only be reopened after repair and clearing up work is completed on September 1.
The rocks and soil in mountain areas have been loosened by typhoons and there is a chance of further rain. Visitors and climbers are requested to pay attention to safety. If you encounter a new road collapse you should turn back. Please also report the forest road and trail situation back to allow the park headquarters to carry out the necessary repair work. For the latest information on recreation area and climbing routes access status please keep a close eye on the national park’s website.
