Shei-pa National Park’s Dajian Mountain and Xiaojian Mountain climbing routes have been reopened

The access road for the Dajian Mountain /Xiaojian Mountain climbing trail trailhead on Songmao forest road (Lishan) was affected by Typhoon Morakot, suffering serious collapse and subsidence around 50 meters before Renshou Bridge (This area is outside the national park but is a road that climbers must take when heading for Dajian Mountain and Xiaojian Mountain.) The road has now been repaired by local fruit farmers and is passable for people and motorcycles (larger vehicles cannot yet pass). As a result, the national park headquarters has decided to begin accepting park entry applications for Dajian Mountain and Xiaojian Mountain climbing routes. Applications can be made on the Shei-pa National Park website. The road surface has been repaired but the foundations are still soft after the heavy rains so visitors and climbers are asked to take care when in the area and pay close attention to related news and the news on the national park website.
