National park volunteers from Japan visit Kenting National park
A group of national park volunteers organized by Aso Kuju National Park and its volunteer association visited Kenting National Park Headquarters November 26-27. To introduce national park ideas and allow exchange between volunteers from Taiwan and Japan, the national park headquarter arranged a presentation in the visitor center, an eco-tour of Sheding, a night time ecology observation activity and visits to park bases for the visitors, who were assisted by volunteer interpreters.Lively exchange of experience and opinions took place.
Kenting National Park Volunteers Association began active planning in 2007 and, supported by the Interchange Association (Japan) and the national park headquarters’ Interpretation and Education Section, its members visited Aso Kuju National Park, Kyushu in May, 2008.The group was introduced to management ideas for national parks, personnel training methods and natural engineering methods and the visit was very fruitful for all those taking part.
Kenting has a complete volunteer training program and uses its volunteer resources widely and flexibly, giving the visitors from Japan a deep impression. This return vast was arranged to allow experience to be shared and build international friendship through social exchange. It is hoped that exchange activities will continue and that a long-term cooperative relationship is established.
