The event is being held to promote healthy and zero carbon leisure activities, attract people from Taiwan and overseas to Kenting National Park to discover its unique natural beauty and cultural resources, disseminate conservation ideas, promote local development and the establishment of conservation, tourism and marathon international links.

Planning work was completed in December 2009. The event information has been posted on the park HQ and the Chinese Taipei Road Running Association websites and related promotional materials have been produced. Entries were accepted from January 4 to February 4, 2010 and the race will take place on March 14. For more details please see the Chinese Taipei Road Running Association website.
