The Su-hua Highway was blocked but the Taroko Marathon and Taroko Gorge Music Festival will go ahead as planned
With the Su-hua Highway blocked by landslides caused by heavy rain, many people are worried that the Taroko Marathon and Taroko Music Festival will be affected. Taroko National Park HQ assures people that these two major annual events will go ahead on schedule and welcomes participation. The park HQ pointed out that the marathon will take place on November 6 while the festival will be held on November 20 on Taroko Terrace. Both events are held in the cool of autumn and both are major annual Taroko National Park events that many people look forward to. Both these events are rapidly approaching. The park HQ asks that people to travel to Hualian using public transport; the park HQ has arranged with Taiwan Railways Administration to lay on extra trains and add extra cars to existing services. On the day the events take place, a shuttle bus will also be available to transport visitors between Xincheng Railway Station and Taroko Terrace and the park HS hopes visitors will make good use of the service.
