2010 Taroko Marathon to be held on November 6. 10,000 people will run through the gorge. Traffic controls will place on the Central Cross-island Highway

2010 Taroko Marathon to be held on November 6. On the day of the event traffic controls with be in place on the Central Cross-island Highway (Provincial Highway 8).The sections subject to restrictions and times: 1. Central Cross-island Highway Asia Cement factory (190.5K) to Tianxiang (1169K marker) from 4am to 2 pm. When the last runner has passed Taroko Arch the control point will be moved from Asia Cement to the south side of Taroko’s Jinwen Bridge. 2. Old Provincial Highway 9: north side of Taroko Bridge to the south side of Jinwen Bridge from 5am to 2pm. Apart from work vehicles, no vehicles will be allowed onto the road during the period the controls are in place. Also, vehicles parked in the Taroko National Park Visitor Center and along the route must be moved by 5am on the day. The park headquarters regrets any inconvenience to the public.
