Series of activities to welcome black-faced spoonbills—little researchers to carry out a black-faced spoonbill ecological survey

Tainan County Zengwen River Estuary North Bank Black-faced Spoonbill Refuge in Taijiang National Park is the place where a large proportion of the world’s black-faced population spend the winter. To give the park a role as an outdoor classroom, on the afternoon of November 21, 1-5pm, the park HQ will hold the “little researchers carry out a black-faced spoonbill ecological survey” activity in which children will be introduced to the species’ ecology, the spoonbills’ winter habitat and the special features of the feeding environment, and also learn how to carry out a black-faced spoonbill ecological survey, nurturing the conservationists of the future. The young participants will visit the Black-faced Spoonbill Ecological Hall learning some basic facts about the species and how to carry out conservation research. Interested parties should register on the park website and meet at 1pm at the park HQ on the day. Parents should drop-off and pick up participants.
