Kenting National Park trains young English language eco-tourism interpreters
To begin environmental education at a young age, give the children of the Hengchun Peninsula correct ecological conservation knowledge and nurture their related English interpretation ability, from October to the end of December 2010, the national park HQ held a special training course for local children aged 11-14 who are currently in school and who have passed the General English Proficiency Test at beginner level. Ably instructed by experienced Kenting National Park English language interpreters, as of December 26, 15 children had completed the 40-hour intensive eco-tourism English interpreter training course.
Kenting National Park director Lin Ching said that these little English eco-tourism interpreters, who will provide eco-tourism interpretation service to foreign visitors across the Hengchun Peninsula, will certainly make a contribution to raising the level of eco-tourism interpretation in the area. Also, the results and experience gained through this training make the park HQ willing to make this training course available to people of all ages and walks of life on the Hengchun Peninsula.
