Xuejian Recreation Area is in the northwest of Shei-Pa National Park. In terms of topography, from the Da-an Creek valley on the edge of the park, moving to the east the land gradually elevates, rising to between 600 and 2600 meters. The main mountains in the area are Beikeng Mountain, Dongxishui Mountain, Dongliushui Mountain and Jinwei Mountain on the west side and Le Mountain and Sanrong Mountain on the north side, creating spectacular scenery. Affected by warm and cold zone climate, the area has great flora and fauna diversity and, because it has mostly never been developed, the natural environment is quite pristine; the area was also the home of aborigines and a gathering point for migration in days gone by.   

Xuejian Recreation Area was officially opened on January 8, 2008. In addition to providing services to the people, Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters is also responsible for the important work of preventing poaching and illegal logging. Since the recreation area opened, close cooperation with the police has resulted in the arrest of a number of people for poaching and illegal logging. After years of effort poaching and illegal logging in the Xuejian area has been significantly reduced, showing that anti-poaching and logging efforts have achieved good results; however there are still some criminals who engage in poaching and illegal logging and damage the harmony of the ecosystem.    

A spokesperson for Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters said that protecting the natural resources in the park is one of its main duties and that an all-out effort will continue to be made to conserve the natural resources in the park.

Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters reiterates that precious national land resources belong to everyone and the national parks headquarters and park police will continue to regard conservation and prevention of poaching and illegal logging as very important work. People are asked not to break the law and protect precious natural resources together.

The present time is the breeding season for wild animals. To avoid disturbing wild animals climbers are asked to stick to the routes planned by this headquarters.
