Yushan National Park’s Dongpu Eco-Travel Event

Dongpu Area of Yushan National Park is a traditional area of the Bunun tribe and abundant in culture and humanities, as well as traces of history from the Qing Dynasty and Japanese colonization era. Dongpu is located on the basin of the intersection of Shalixian Creek and Chenyoulan Creek. With a pleasant climate and picturesque scenery, and sitting 1,100 meters above sea level, visitors can easily admire the western end of Yushan and the Tataka Mountain Ridge. The Bunun are the tribe closest to the mountain. The maple leaves turning various shades of red are a beautiful sight to see in the fall of Dongpu. Listening to the trickle of the valley streams and surrounded by forest birds leave one wondering if they had stepped into a paradise. The hot springs waterfall further leaves visitors coming back for more. In order to let visitors catch a glimpse of Dongpu’s beautiful scenery and understand the culture of the Bunun tribe, the management department will be holding a Dongpu eco-travel event at the end of September. There will even be a stargazing activity. Listening to the chirping of the birds and insects while lying under a pool of stars is the best way to pass a beautiful fall evening. A patrol guide from the Bunun tribe will explain the ecosystem of this area in the most vivid of manners and further guide visitors to tour the Rainbow Waterfall and the Father-Son Cliff, explore the village and experience the industry of the tribe.
