100th Year Anniversary “Amazing 100 Years, Happy Riding 100K” Cycle Event on 9//25
On September 25th, Kinmen National Park held an “Amazing 100 Years, Happy Riding 100K” event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of China. A total of 451 people from Taiwan, Xiamen, Fujian and other areas participated in this 100 kilometer bicycle event. The event began from Jhongshanlin Visitor Center, and the ten unique scenic spots along the challenge route were made into a memorial stamp collection. The route wraps around the unique areas around Kinmen National Park where the stone inscription “Wu Wang Zai Ju” (Never forget the duty of retaking Mainland China), located on the peak of Taiwu Mountain, attracted numerous cyclers to stop and take pictures. With the companionship of the Wind Lion along the way, the cyclers further gained a deeper understanding of the culture of Kinmen as well as enjoyed local eats. After the challenge, certificates and metals were given to the cyclers as souvenirs of this event! The management department of the park hopes that more cyclers will join in the low-carbon, bicycle activity to visit Kinmen in the future. The event particularly asked the travel industry to provide special package tours for the participants, and an array of Kinmen’s local gifts, limited draw prizes and free noodles were further provided on site, thus marking the end of a successful event.
