Start Registering for “2011 Kinmen Galore—Old House and Great Cormorant” Event!

This year’s November to December, Kinmen National Park will hold the “2011 Kinmen Galore—Old House and Great Cormorant” (temporary translation) event and welcome all participants. The management department of the park stated that, in order to promote the Kinmen tourism industry, the park has held numerous events to promote eco-travel since the beginning of 2003. These travels revolve around birdwatching Kinmen’s winter migratory bird—Great Cormorant—combining cycling and Ching Tien Hall into the travel itinerary. The park hopes that these events can enhance the overall travel development of Kinmen. The Great Cormorant is the main character of Kinmen’s winter migratory bird species. The sight of hundreds of thousands of these birds returning to their nests at dusk is a majestic ecological sight to experience. This year’s event will guide visitors to admire these cormorants, taste Kinmen’s traditional feast and reside in the park’s traditional and historic Old House. Transportation arrangements will be made where visitors will be able to bike around Guningtou and experience the charms of Minnan and hometown culture. Wonderful free souvenirs will also be given out to those that participate. Please visit Kinmen National Park’s Global Information website for further details about this event.
