Kinmen National Park to Rebuild the Cihu Observatory Deck

Cihu (Ci Lake) is a renowned recreational area in Kingmen National Park. The vibrant and abundant opening created by the spacing of dense trees and the flocks of water birds surrounding the low-lying wetlands creates a rich assortment of species and ecosystems. It is the ideal place to bird watch, particularly for the cormorant. From Sanjiaobao (Triangle Fort) and the nearby observatory decks, visitors can admire the beautiful scenery of Lieyu Island and Xiamen. Furthermore, this is also the perfect spot to watch the sunset. In 2001, wanting to provide exceptional recreational facilities for tourists, the management department of Kinmen built an observatory deck for tourists to rest, bird watch and admire the scenery. After many years of being subjected to wind, rain and sun, the original wooden architecture show signs of erosion and loosening screws in various areas. For this reason, the department has recently decided to remove and rebuild the deck. Construction is scheduled to be completed later this year, on October 30th. During construction, visitors are cautioned to watch out for their own safety and to not enter the construction site for fear of danger. After construction, the observatory deck will continue to provide a better and safer public recreational area. The department offers its sincere apologies for causing any inconvenience.
