Shei-Pa National Park Administration Asks Mountaineers to Help Prevent Forest Fires

The forestfire season is now approaching its peak, so mountaineers should pay particularattention to fire safety. Each year, the relatively stable, cool and pleasantweather between October and February makes that period the most popular seasonfor mountaineering activities. Most of the past forest fires that have occurredin the Shei-Pa National Park were due to human-factors, such as improper fireuse, construction mistakes, rubbish burning and improper use of signal fires.Director Lin Ching of the SNPA says that visitors should follow the NationalPark rules prohibiting the use of camp and cooking fires outside of designatedareas. To prevent forest fires, everyone's help is needed.
