Successful Completion of the “International Forum on the Joint Vision of Taiwan’s and Bhutan’s National Parks”
The headquarters of Shei-Pa National Park held an “InternationalForum on the Joint Vision of Taiwan’s and Bhutan’s National Parks” on April 13,2012. This event is the first official political exchange between Taiwan’s andBhutan’s national parks, with the forum serving as the main highlight in additionto the field visit of five national parks—Yangmingshan, Shei-Pa, Kenting,Yushan and Taijiang. The representative of Taiwan shared the experience andpractical examples of Taiwan’s national parks in the recovery of the ecosystemand species as well as the development and management of the relationshipbetween residents. The representative of Bhutan’s national parks stated thatthe field visit to Yangmingshan and Shei-pa National Park left a lastingimpression on him, particularly the recovery skills, visitor management and thehumane characteristics of the hardware facilities. A seminar discussion wasarranged at the end of the forum where both parties proposed suggestionstowards the format for future exchange opportunities.
