Alpine Flower Fairy – Yushan Azalea
The magnificent Yushan Azalea will be blossoming in the Xue Mountainglacial cirques at the end of May!
The Yushan Azalea is a protogenic species in Taiwan and prefers colderenvironments. Its phylogenetic species is located mainly in the alpine regions betweenthe Himalayas and Yunnan in China, while in Taiwan, they are mostly found inthe mid- to high-elevation mountain areas. The florescence begins at the end ofMarch at mid-elevation and end at the beginning of June the latest. In the XueMountain glacial cirques, the entire population blooms towards the end of May.
According to the Shei-Pa National Park headquarters, this year'sblooming of Yushan Azalea will be much more exuberant than in previous years.
