Dongpu’s Ilin Creative Wood-Sculpting Door Plate Product Presentation
This year, Yushan National Park has further targeted the tribal culture, mountain wisdom and farming characteristics of the Dongguang tribe in north-western area of the park to undergo a series of event planning. The park hopes to aggregate the tribe's mutual consensus and display the tribe's unique charms through a systematic integration of training and guidance.
In order to create a complete community imagery of the tribe, the park has especially selected a unique wood-sculpting artisanal skill with the additional concept of modern water painting. From the beginning of March, a series of wood-sculpting and water painting door plates events have been held. A local wood-sculpting teacher of the Bunong tribe has also been invited to teach the unique wood-carving technique, enabling participants to carve/sculpt their own door plates as well as paint them with vibrant colors that best represent the tribe. Once the class is over, a point-rating competition took place, and a total of seven awards were handed out. The park hopes that this event will encourage residents to continue displaying their creativity and glorify this artisanal skill.
These one-of-a-kind door plates will give visitors a sense of being immersed in the special beauty that belongs only to the Dongguang tribe.
