“Loving Man-Jhou Working Holiday” event by the Kenting National Park
Kenting National Park has organized many rounds of working holidays and received great response. The event combined the spirit of a working holiday with eco-tourism, as well as taking the visitors to make close contact with the local residents, learning and understanding their ways of life and cultures.
The KNPH will organize the Loving Man-Jhou activity on August 26th, 2012, taking visitors to explore the ecology of Menmalo Mountain and removing foreign plant species. Registration for the event begins now and can be made through internet. Community tour guides trained by the KNPH will lead visitors to explore Menmalo Mountain and remove foreign plant species, at the same time introducing them to local ecology. Visitors may be able to catch a glimpse of the Formosan Date Palm, one of the Four Wonder Woods of Taiwan; look in the distance to see Kenting's Dajian Mountain and Shinue Mountain while listening to the description of the legend of the Husband and Wife Trees. Lastly, the tour will visit Hengchun's origin of Sisal Hemps and the rare super-sized water wells, experiencing the natural and cultural beauties of Man-Jhou Township.
