There are more than 300 bird species in Taijiang National Park. Among them, as many as 21 species of birds are under protection, including the black-faced spoonbills. In response to the "UN Convention on Migratory Species" and to protect these valuable assets of nature, Taijiang National Park Headquarters entered into a cross-regional cooperation alliance to protect the black-faced spoonbills and othermigratory species. Taijiang National Park Headquarters will host the "Wetland Conservation for Black-faced Spoonbill Living Areas and Migration of Migratory Birds Conference", inviting Dongtan National Nature Reserve in Chongming Shanghai and the College of Environmental Sciences and Ecology, National University of Tainan to join in the discussion. This conference will be held on the campus of the National University of Tainan, which houses the only college specializing in environmental sciences and ecology in Taiwan. This bilateral conference aims to discuss several significant issues, including wetland conservation for black-faced spoonbill living areas and the migration habits of migratory birds and aims to push forward cross-strait collaboration to ensure a safe path for migratory birds, conservation of the wetland for spoon-bills, and sustainable development of wetlands, as well as reinforcing cross-strait experience sharing in practice and technologies.
