The Daba North RidgeTrail generally refers to the route from the Zhengxibao Giant Trees to GuanwuRecreation Area via Mayangshan, Nanmayangshan, Mayang Lake,Zhongbaping, Jiujiu Lodge, Madala Creek trail entrance, and the east line ofDalu Forest Trail. This route enters the vicinity of Shei-PaNational Park (protected area) afterNanmayangshan (before Mayang Lake), which was not openfor public access until now. It has been a highly anticipated trail amonghikers and there was a need for an alternative route to Dabajianshan since theeast line of Dalu Forest Trail was often closed due to falling rocks. Afterdiscussing with the residents of Xinguang and Zhengxibao tribes, the Shei-PaNational Park Administration decided to open the Daba North Ridge Trail to thepublic, but application is still required for access to the protected area. Dueto system upgrade, the application system for the route will be opened to thepublic from 2012 December 1st.
