SNPH announces entry control policy for 2013 Cherry Blossom Season

In order to prevent the recurrence of traffic congestion on the road to Wuling Farm and ensure the rights of park visit of mountaineers, Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters (SNPH) announced the 2013 Cherry Blossom Season Park Entry Control Policy (February 10 to March 5, 2013) and assisted Wuling Farm in issuing vehicle passes to mountaineers. SNPH Director-General Qing LIN reminded the public to apply for the mountain and park entry permits and make preparations in advance if they plan mountaineering or a trip to the ecological protection area in SNPH. These include the mountaineering plan, mountaineering equipment, route information, food planning, fitness training, and an emergency response plan. Director-General LIN also advised mountaineers to hire experienced and credited high-mountain guides and to carefully assess the effect of weather change. When climbing tall mountains over 3,000m elevation, mountaineers are advised to stay at 2,500m or so for a night to adapt to the height. It is the snowy season, mountaineers are strongly advised to prepare ice-climbing and snow equipment to prevent danger.
