To encourage the public to capture instant wonderful scenes of animals in the park, and to record the touch deep inside their heard, Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters (YNPH) specifically organized the 2012 Yangmingshan National Park Wildlife Ecology Photograph Contest. With these photos and text description about park ecology, the YNPH hopes to enrich the ecological data of the park with these episodes of personal observation and thereby to discover more ecological resources in the park for the public to better understand the importance of ecological conservation, to visit Yangmingshan, and to safeguard Yangmingshan. The contest attracted many photography fans. Judges began evaluating the works on 24 October 2012. After multi-stage voting and discussions, photos of species not found in the park area and photos taken with food attractions were eliminated. Finally, a total of 63 works were selected, including the works for the gold medal, silver medal, and bronze medal; 10 excellent choices; 20 great works; and 30 finalist works.
