Taroko National Park to further promote environmental education courses after passing EPA’s Environmental Education Facility Accreditation

Taroko National Park Headquarters (TNPH) applied to the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) for the Environmental Education Facility Accreditation. After a series of reviews, the park passed the accreditation and became an official environmental education facility. In the future, Taroko National Park will reinforce the promotion of environmental education based on its past experience.
Environmental education is one of the goals of national parks. The tall mountains, rift valley, and hanging cliff landforms; the rich fauna and flora ranging from the tropical to the temperate climates; the historical and cultural relics since the prehistoric period; along with the valuable Taroko Tribe culture, ancient trails, footpaths, tourist attractions, visitor center, and exhibitions, all these have provided the park with perfect resources and facilities for promoting environmental education. Therefore, the park organizes every year different kinds of environmental education activities and courses for different people. The park also offers environmental education courses to elementary and high schools in Hualien. Over the years, the park has cultivated countless environmental education talents and accumulated rich experience in environmental education.
