Penghu Book Launch: Let’s Explore the New Ocean Paradise

The Marine National Park Headquarters (MNPH) has teamed up with the Penghu County Government to launch a series of picture books introducing the marine resources of Penghu. The book launch party will be held on 9.00 am, March 16th, 2013 (Sat.) at the auditorium of the Penghu County Bureau of Cultural Affairs. MNPH and Penghu County invites everyone who is interested in the marine ecology of the four southern islets of Penghu to explore the new ocean paradise in three picture books - Coral Rocks, Terns, Coral Seas, Mansion, Light Tower, and Basalt Rocks, Grandpa’s Secret Base, and Hermit Crabs of Penghu.

These two books are MNPH’s special production for teenagers and children. Through vivid drawings, multimedia designs, and interesting stories, the writers present the four southern islands of Penghu through thorough depictions of the islets' geographical and geological features, marine culture, and lifestyle. These are two books that will bring young readers to the treasures of the ocean in an interesting way and introduce them to the diversity of island culture and resources, as well as the amazing marine life, with an aim to raise their awareness of the importance of protecting marine resources.
