Kaohsiung National Park 17th Anniversary Celebration

Kaohsiung National Park is about to celebrate its 17th anniversary! The park is hosting walking events on April 13 (Saturday) beginning at 8 a.m. The "Snake Year Meandering Walk" is a checkpoint event which includes various stages. The first stage is the "Meandering Pubbles" walk, where participants must fully circle the serpentine garden one time. The second stage is the "Ghost Lake" walk, in which participants must walk along the Peak Ring Road to the gazebo in Area 2.

Crossing through the outdoor amphitheater, the winding path leads to stage 3, Dancing with Snakes. In addition to learning facts about snakes, participants have to plead for mercy for the snake. Stage 4 is Reducing Carbon Emissions, where participants are taught how to sort garbage and reduce their carbon footprint. The National Kaohsiung Marine University will be setting up booths to display the organic soil cultivation they developed. Turn in two plastic bottles or used batteries for a little prize!

Stage 5 is the Snake Bird Showdown and is in the Environmental Education Center. This stage teaches participants about the food will photographs and pictures of birds with a live commentary.
