Kenting National Park Now Recruiting Butterfly Conservation Volunteers
Kenting National Park Headquarters is recruiting 10 butterfly conservation volunteers from July 27 to 28, 2013. Those with the ability to identify butterfly species and previous butterfly conservation volunteers will be give special consideration. Volunteer recruitment is open to the public. Applications are accepted via email. Registration is open from now until 5 p.m., July 18, 2013; applications must be received before this time by email. The headquarters will evaluate candidates and announce the results on July 22.
The training program includes professional conservation volunteer training through training courses and hands-on practical training. The course curriculum includes butterfly classification and covers the transect line survey method, conservation work, butterfly ecology and survey, Kenting National Park butterfly resource and butterfly conservation with local community involvement, transect line survey work, and more.
Participants are not required to pay any registration fees, but do need to pay a NT$1,000 security deposit which will be refunded pending full participation in the training courses and practical training.
