National Park Publications Shine at the First Green Sprouts Awards

The "First Green Sprouts Award--Excellent Environmental Education Publications Contest" hosted its awards ceremony on August 24, 2013, when winning national park publications were announced. The volume "Uncharted Territory: Ecological Sketches of Orchid Island" was published by the Marine National Park and won the Excellence Award in Books in the Adult Section. Yushan National Park won the Excellence Award, Books in the Adult Group for "A History of Yushan." The Marine National Park Headquarters published "Terns, Coral Sea/ Western Homes, Lighthouses, Basalt Boulders" and "Dive into the Orchid Island Seas; Fly into Yami Forest," for which it won Honorable Mention in Picture Books for the Children's Group and Youth Group respectively. Yangmingshan National Park's "Frog-watching: Yangmingshan Frogs" won Honorable Mention in Books in both the Children's and Youth groups. "Yushan Bird Songs--136 Wild Bird Calls" and "The Six-legged Wonders of the Kinmen," published by the Yushan and Kinmen National Parks, respectively, received Honorable Mention in Books in the Adult Group. The above government publications were beautifully and painstakingly produced and aim to share the natural and cultural beauty of national parks with the public.
