To support the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC), the Marine National Park Headquarters will organize on September 21 the Clean Up My Ocean Home Workshop. Marine Affairs Specialist Lin Ai-long of The Society of Wilderness will be invited to explain to the public the origins of marine debris and the methods of marine debris surveillance in order to promote coastal cleanup. Citizens interested in coastal cleanup are welcome to join us.

The ICC was convened by the US Ocean Conservancy group to encourage the cleanup of waste deposited in beaches across the world. With civilian involvement and classification and statistics of waste, the ICC aims to show the public the origins of marine population, encourage human beings to change the inappropriate habits that pollute the ocean and to develop long-term solutions.

The Kaohsiung Metropolitan Park is located at No. 24, Demin Road, Nanzi District. Citizens can take the Kaohsiung Metro to the Metropolitan Park Station (R21) and then the Red 28 shuttle bus. Citizens can also get out of the station from Exit 4 and walk for about 10 minutes to the park.
